Blue Presence

Blue Presence shifts the leaf away from its expected natural reading into a deeper and more introspective visual state.

The blue surface emerges gradually from the surrounding darkness, revealing veins, folds and imperfections through restrained variations of light.

Isolated from scale and environment, the leaf becomes less an observed object than a suspended presence.

The work uses color to create distance between what the viewer recognizes and what the form begins to suggest.
